United Airlines has Recognized POI Aviation’s Teresita Blas

United Airlines has recognized POI Aviation’s Teresita Blas in their June newsletter.

She has been cited for an outstanding job as she performs her tasks in the areas of safety protocols, security and cleaning.

Incidentally, National Safety Month is celebrated in June.

Teresita has been with POI Aviation for over 10 years and has taken to heart POI’s values of professionalism, people and partnerships.

Tan Siu Lin Foundation’s Donation to Joeten Kiyu Public Library

Tan Siu Lin Foundation, the charitable arm of TanHoldings has provided a total of 152 gift bags to Joeten Kiyu Public Library last May 25, 2021.

The purpose of this donation is to support JKPL’s free summer program, encouraging each child, youth, and adults in the CNMI to improve and practice their reading skills.

The gift bags that consist of shirts, stuffed toys, and mugs will be used as a weekly prize for children who complete a task.

JKPL library director Erlinda C. Naputi graciously extends her thanks and appreciation to the Tan Siu Lin Foundation for its generosity and support.

Truly, it is an honor for the company to be part of the continuous growth of education in the CNMI community.

2021 Marpi Cycling Classic

TanHoldings and Tan Siu Lin Foundation sponsored the 2021 Marpi Cycling Classic last May 30 for its employees and their families to coincide with the celebration of the World Cycling Month on June 3.

The 20 km. long race passes through the scenic route of Banzai Cliff.

Biking is one of the many ways to stay fit and healthy. The TanHoldings and Tan Siu Lin Foundation are happy to see the growing community of bikers on the island.

A Little Effort Makes a Huge Impact

The TanHoldings’ executives and staff joined the celebration of 51st Earth Day by partnering up with the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality (BECQ) in an island-wide clean-up at Garapan, Saipan.
Almost two (2) truckloads of trash were collected in the clean-up.
Every year, the company is always looking forward to participating as volunteers for the clean-up as living on an island is a privilege, and must take part in keeping our paradise clean and green.

Tan Siu Lin Foundation Grants Mt. Carmel Cathedral’s Wish

Tan Siu Lin Foundation, the charitable arm of Tan Holdings handed over a Yamaha grand piano to Bishop Ryan Jimenez, Diocesan Finance Council Rev. Fr. Jason Granado, Shepherd’s Choir member Rose Soledad, and pianist Franco Mendoza last week.
Mt. Carmel Cathedral had its 30-plus-year old piano and replaced it with a brand new one.
“The piano has been on our wish list for the past several years and we would like to thank the Tan Siu Lin Foundation for granting that wish,” Bishop Jimenez said.
He also extends his gratitude to TSL Foundation and Tan Holdings for their unwavering support to the community.

POI Aviation in Action

The TanHoldings’ POI Aviation took part in sanitizing and disinfecting the facilities and vehicles of the CNMI Department of Corrections (DOC) last December 22,2020.

Team members of POI Aviation run a thorough cleaning of the facilities to ensure the safety of the Department of Correction’s employees as well as its inmates.

The TanHoldings family remains proactive in helping to build a safe and clean space for the CNMI community.

TanHoldings Cares: The Commitment Remains

TanHoldings’ CTSI Logistics, Asia Pacific Airlines, and POI Aviation remained in action in bringing vital equipment amid the global pandemic.

A shipment was carried on a chartered Asia Pacific Airlines flight from Incheon, South Korea, consisting of testing kits and 10 ultra-cold freezers that will be used as storage for the COVID-19 vaccines for the CNMI.

POI Aviation spearheaded the ground handling of the cargo while CTSI Logistics took the lead in trucking of the shipment.

As the company says, no one will be left behind. The TanHoldings family will remain steadfast in the commitment of “We will rise as one, Marianas!”

One with the Community in Rebuilding the CNMI

 

The TanHoldings Corporation has allocated funds for the recovery of sites that were destructed by typhoons. TanHoldings is with 32 other organizations who are committed in maintaining the facilities and locations around the islands of the CNMI. 

TanHoldings Corporate Business Development Vice President Alex Sablan stated in his interview that the TanHoldings Corporation is part of the Public-Private Partnership program of the Governor’s Council of Economic Advisers.  

Additionally, the company is also focusing on providing funds on organizations/groups who are taking initiatives in transforming the islands to a better CNMI.  

Tan Siu Lin Foundation’s Laptop Bag Donation to Public School System

Tan Siu Lin Foundation, the charitable arm of TanHoldings donated 4,887 laptop bags worth $122,175 to Public School System (PSS) for the students’ online classes.

Education Commissioner Dr. Alfred Ada uttered that this is the perfect time to receive TSL Foundation’s donation for it will help the students to cope up for this year’s online schooling. 

“Education is one of the top priorities of the Tan Siu Lin Foundation. We can’t allow the many challenges we are experiencing right now to discourage us from educating our children and helping them achieve their goals,” TSL Foundation Executive Director Marie Tolentino said.

TanHoldings Initiative: CNMI Clean, CNMI Green

TanHoldings, together with all the Strategic Business Units has started the TanHoldings’ Anti-Littering Campaign which will run from August 30-November 6, 2020.

This campaign aims to create a pristine and litter-free CNMI. In line with this, the company also wants to inspire its team members and families that taking a good care for the island begins with them.

The TanHoldings team members hope that this campaign will motivate people to be their island’s keeper and to be educated in anti-littering practices. 

One Island, One Goal: Transforming the CNMI into a World-Class Destination

150 TanHoldings team members have come together to participate in this year’s company-led cleanup along the Froilan Tenorio Beach Road Pathway, starting at the Oleai Pavilion and finishing at the pavilion across the JP Center in Garapan last Friday, August 7, 2020.

A total of 150 trash bags and truckload of fallen debris were collected during the cleanup.

“Many people drive by or go to enjoy the beach, to exercise, or stop and take photos of beautiful sunsets. The Saipan Mayor’s Office has done a great job in taking care of the grounds and TanHoldings looks forward to joining their efforts in giving the pathway a deep cleaning of picking up trash and fallen debris on a monthly basis,” Corporate HR Vice President Catherine Attao said.

The corporation believes that ‘partnership’ and ‘teamwork’ are the ways to take part into the vision of the CNMI.

“TanHoldings has always deeply valued our islands, our communities, and our people,” she added.

The CNMI Welcomes More Medical Supplies to Combat COVID-19

The CNMI welcomes another batch of medical supplies from Los Angeles, California to enhance the COVID-19 testing in the island.

The cargo was carried on a chartered Asia Pacific Airlines flight, and POI Aviation took charge in ground handling of essential equipment and supplies. CTSI Logistics spearheaded the trucking and transporting on the ground.

TanHoldings’ Asia Pacific Airlines, POI Aviation, and CTSI Logistics remain committed in handling and delivering medical equipment amidst the global pandemic.

A Cargo of Hope Arrives at the CNMI

A cargo of hope arrived last May 27, 2020 at the Saipan International Airport.

Another batch of medical supplies from Bangkok, Thailand was carried on a chartered Asia Pacific Airlines flight, with CTSI Logistics.

CTSI Logistics Inc. and POI Aviation Continue to Assist in CNMI’s COVID-19 Fight

TanHoldings’ POI Aviation and CTSI Logistics, Inc. remain in action in handling essential cargo for the fight against COVID-19.

Another batch of shipment arrived at the Saipan International Airport last May 22, 2020. The cargo carrying COVID-19 test kits and other vital medical supplies came from Incheon, South Korea. CTSI Logistics Saipan took the lead in ground handling of the shipment.

Also onboard the said chartered Asiana Airlines flight handled by POI Aviation are pathologists who were flown in to help the CNMI’s fight against the global pandemic.

POI Aviation’s Mission to Combat COVID-19

Critical to the control of COVID-19 spread is proper sanitation. COVID-19 is transmitted via aerosols and droplets and can live on surfaces for days.

With their newly-launched service, TanHoldings’ POI Aviation team has disinfected airline equipment of flights arriving on the island.

This is in partnership and collaboration with airlines who has increased their safety precautions, including cleaning and sanitation protocols, for the safety of their staff and passengers.

POI Aviation Launches New Sanitizing Service for the Community’s Protection Against COVID-19

POI Aviation, the TanHoldings’ aviation business launched a new sanitizing service that aims to clean and disinfect commercial areas such as offices and hotels during the global pandemic.

COVID-19 is known to remain on the surface of an area/room. Taking measures like sanitizing and disinfecting the area will help prevent the spread of the Corona virus.

The team is equipped with full personal protective equipment (PPE) suits and has undergone training in cleaning and disinfection procedures.

Tan Siu Lin Foundation Assists Empty Vessel Ministry Foundation

Tan Siu Lin Foundation, the charitable arm of TanHoldings, donated $18,000 worth of relief goods to Empty Vessel Ministry Foundation (EVMF) last Thursday, May 14, 2020 at the ministry’s office in Gualo Rai, Saipan. 

TanHoldings CEO and President Jerry Tan and TSL Foundation Executive Director Merlie Tolentino handed over the canned goods, cereals, milk, and packs of fruit juices to EVMF president Rosalyn Ajoste that will help 500 families who are affected by the global pandemic. 

“The Empty Vessel Ministry has consistently provided food assistance to members of our community. They were there when we had two strong typhoons and now, they are stepping up for families that are affected by this pandemic. Even on ordinary days, Empty Vessel keeps its door open to people in need. It takes a lot of effort and commitment to be able to provide assistance to the community yearlong so we’re fortunate to have the Empty Vessel Ministry in the CNMI,” Tolentino said. 

“They are part of our very generous community and we, at the Tan Siu Lin Foundation is honored to help their program, she added. 

Tan Siu Lin Foundation Provides Assistance to the Lions Clubs International District 204

Tan Siu Lin Foundation, the charitable arm of TanHoldings donated over $3,000 worth of relief goods to the Lions Clubs International District 204 last Sunday, May 3, 2020.

TSL Foundation’s donation to Lions Clubs International District 204 is consisted of grocery items like cereals, fresh milk, juicy juice, peanut butter, and SPAM products, and handed it over to 200 families in Kagman, Koblerville, Chalan Kanoa, San Antonio, Dandan, and Garapan.

“We are so grateful for the donation of TSL Foundation, especially to Mr. Jerry Tan and to the TSLF executive director Ms. Merlie Tolentino for accommodating our request,” said Region 2 Chairwoman Annamae Adaza.

Tan Holdings and Tan Siu Lin Foundation Donate Care Packages for the CNMI Front-liners

TanHoldings and Tan Siu Lin Foundation donated 585 care packages for the CNMI front-liners last May 1, 2020.
The packages delivered by D&Q were distributed to Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC), Emergency Operations Center (OEC), Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DFEMS) and to the Department of Public Safety (DPS).
CHCC also received additional 15,000 face mask from TanHoldings and 5,000 face mask from Northern Mariana Islands Football Association.
