TSLF Supports the Tinian Pika Festival with a $5,000 Donation

The Tinian Pika Festival, set to captivate attendees with its vibrant celebration, has received a significant boost of support from the Tan Siu Lin Foundation (TSLF). The foundation has pledged a donation of $5,000 to contribute to the success of the much-anticipated event. Mayor Edwin P. Aldan had the honor of receiving the donation check from TSLF’s Director Merlie Tolentino and TanHoldings’ CEO Jerry Tan.

Scheduled to take place on February 18-19, 2023, the 19th Annual Tinian Hot Pepper Festival, known as “Pika Fest” among locals, is a remarkable showcase of the island’s distinctive donni’ hot pepper. The Chamorro word “pika” carries dual meanings of “spicy” and “excellent,” both of which aptly describe the festivities that await attendees. The event attracts locals and visitors alike, who come together to immerse themselves in a fusion of culture, flavors, and vibrant performances.

The support extended by the Tan Siu Lin Foundation and TanHoldings highlights their commitment to fostering community spirit and promoting the cultural heritage of Tinian. By donating to the Tinian Pika Festival, the foundation aims to enhance the festivities and provide an enjoyable experience for everyone in attendance.
