TanHoldings President and CEO gets appointed to the Travel and Tourism Advisory Board

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo appointed TanHoldings President and CEO Jerry Tan to the national U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board (TTAB) last Friday, January 13.

Along with 31 other individuals from around the country, Tan will advise the Commerce secretary regarding the effects of government policies on the tourism and travel industry of the USA. They will also provide counsel on current issues to maintain its sustainable growth, given that the tourism industry is the nation’s economic engine.

The 32 appointees, Tan included, are considered organization and business leaders in the travel industry. They are regarded as representatives of the state and the groups that are directly involved in the American tourism landscape.

“The U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board plays a vital role in providing expert recommendations and industry insight to optimize the American travel experience. I look forward to working with new and returning members,” said Raimondo.

A wide range of issues and policies have been handled by the TTAB including travel facilitation, visa policy, infrastructure, aviation security, tourism research, climate, and economic sustainability.
