At TanHoldings, we are dedicated to supporting our service member employees and ensuring full compliance with USERRA. By working together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive workplace for everyone. Our Pacific region has one of the highest per capita of members serving in the National Guard and Reserve. These dedicated service member employees protect our island and country, allowing us to live in freedom. However, employers face challenges as they strive to operate effectively while personnel take on additional responsibilities in the workplace.
To address these challenges, we organized for our executives and managers to attend a training presentation conducted by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) on the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). The ESGR training provided a comprehensive understanding of USERRA, a federal law that establishes rights and responsibilities for members of the National Guard and Reserve and their civilian employers. This law covers employment, reemployment, and retention rights.
During the training, ESGR shared valuable insights on how employers can support their employees serving in the Guard or Reserve, fostering stronger relationships and a more supportive work environment. This training is another step towards understanding and strengthening our support for our service member employees.
