UOG receives $1M donation to their Capital Campaign program

Keeping its unending commitment to support education for the people of Micronesia, the Tan Siu Lin Foundation generously donated $1 million to the University of Guam (UOG) last November 26 at the atrium of the Jesus and Eugenia Leon Guerrero School of Business and Public Administration Building. Tan Holdings’ President and Tan Siu Lin Foundation Vice Chairman, Jerry Tan along with Tan Holdings’ Executive Vice President and the foundations’ director, George Chiu presented the check to UOG President, Robert Underwood and the UOG Endowment Foundation Vice President, Gov. Joseph Ada. According to university officials, the funds will be used for the construction of four priority buildings on UOG’s Mangilao campus. UOG Alumnus, Jerry Tan stated that he wanted to give back to his Alma Mater in support of the university’s development of state-of-the-art campuses and to ensure the students will stay on Guam and not to attend schools elsewhere. Tan said that he is excited to help UOG, as its students will become the region’s future workforce. The Tan Siu Lin Foundation became the first organization to pledge $1 Million to UOG’s five-year fundraising program called the Capital Campaign. The campaign hopes to raise $30 million by the year 2017 in which will help pay for the numerous projects of the university.
