Concert King serenades Saipan

More than six thousand people stood at the fields of Hopwood Jr. High School in Chalan Piao last November 30 for the return of the Philippine Concert King, Martin Nievera. The remarkable vocals from the Rhythm and Harmony Glee Club of Marianas High School set the mood as they opened the event with their performance of classical and Broadway hits. Followed by the concert’s front act, Martin Nievera along with his ensemble took on the spotlight. The Philippine Concert King sang a range of beautiful, unforgettable love songs, Christmas songs, and several theme songs from popular past and present Philippine television series. Nievera also sang upbeat songs for the younger crowd as he did covers of today’s best music. The free concert was sponsored by Tan Holdings in celebration of their 40 years of doing business in Micronesia as well as a token of their gratitude for the communities in the region for their four decades of support. Tan Holdings President Jerry Tan stated that Tan Holdings will continue to remain committed to the region in terms of business and social progress. “We look forward to forging new friendships, taking care of existing ones, and strengthening the bond with our communities.” The concert was hosted by Tan Holdings corporate affairs manager Ed Arriola Jr. and Tan Theaters Marketing Director Bojo Molina and facilitated by volunteers from the United Filipino Organization and the Shirley’s FC.
