In pursuit of promoting grassroots family literacy on Saipan, Tan Siu Lin Foundation was among the major sponsors in the Motheread Training Program.
Motheread is a nationally-acclaimed family literacy program that teaches parents to use stories to improve their children’s academic skills in reading, writing, comprehension and critical thinking.
Through its generous donation, Tan Siu Lin Foundation likewise helped in funding the training of seventeen community volunteers who became certified Motheread parent-trainers.
Apart from Tan Siu Lin Foundation, other major sponsors for the training program for Motheread were the Bank of Hawaii Charitable Foundation, DFS Saipan, the Bank of Guam and the Bank of Saipan.
