Eager volunteers from Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan flocked the 2012 Xterra triathlon last March 24 at Micro Beach Saipan.There were reportedly 26 volunteers who handed out bottles of water and sport drinks to the 73 participating athletes from around the world including athletes from Saipan.
Duty Free Shoppers (DFS) and the Marianas Visitors Authority (MVA) sponsored the event.
2012 Xterra featured some of the world’s pro athletes coming from the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazail, Japan and Australia. The Xterra race is one of the best-known series of off road triathlon races involving swimming, mountain biking and trail running courses.
