For Immediate Release, December 2003:

Guam Dai-ichi names new general manager

An executive with over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Mr. Jan Segers has been named General Manager of the Guam Dai-ichi Hotel.

Mr. Segers has a degree in Higher Hotel Management and Administration from the Coovi-Pivit College in Brussels, Belgium. He has managed deluxe and luxury hotels and resorts in many parts of the world, to include Belgium, Canada, Bangladesh, Hawaii, California, New Zealand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Jordan. He has also provided professional consulting services to hotels and resorts in Taiwan and Palau.

“Our focus now is to improve and bring a new product to Tumon Bay. I am excited about the hotel’s future and about the reinvestment in the property that has just begun. A major renovation will be taking place next year,” said Segers. “This was one of the first hotels in Guam and we are looking forward to redeveloping a new product – you could call it putting a new dress on a fine lady. “
