Dai-ichi Opens Micronesia Style Spa
SAIPAN - The Dai-ichi Hotel Saipan Beach has opened an original Micronesian-style spa. "The Spa @ Dai-ichi," kicked off its first day of operations with a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception with tourism officials on April 20.
The Spa includes a retail store and reception area in the hotel lobby, four private treatment rooms for massage, facial care, foot care, aromatherapy baths and other services. The concept was inspired by Micronesia, featuring the sea, sand and natural ingredients native to the islands -- all with a modern tropical flair. A signature massage is called "The Micronesian Wave", with packages named after Micronesian legends.
" Everything from the elegant décor to the services and the natural products we're using were created to provide a healthy, relaxing and difference spa experience for our guests," said Dai-ichi General Manager Mark Swinton. "We think both local residents and hotel guests will enjoy the beautiful atmosphere and services the team has created."
The opening team included Swinton; architecture by John Setiadi Tan, AIA; spa consulting/training by Susan Stein, owner of the Bali-based Jari Menari spa; THC Vice President Lynn Knight on concept and project development; THC Facilities Director Raymond Cheng on construction management; and Dai-ichi Sports & Recreation Director Wayan Sudana. The spa is part of the hotel's Sports & Recreation Department, created last year to offer new resort activities for guests of all ages.
